About Jessi Gilbert
Jessi Gilbert is a photographer with a focus towards photojournalism currently living in the San Francisco area of California. She recieved her BFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in the Winter of 2011. Her love for photography started on a family vacation when she grew jealous of her older brother who always got to take the pictures. She finally convinced her parents to give in, and let her shoot. She fell in love with the camera. Since then, Jessi recieved a first place award for photo essay at the Georgia College Press Association in 2011, as well as first place photo from the Southern Regional Press Institute in 2011 for her "Skate" photos, which can be seen under the "Portfolio" tab. Jessi grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan and hopes to continue traveling, documenting and exploring the world.
